Colin Powell's endorsement of Barrack Obama raises the level of discourse in a campaign that has often descended into the gutter by both candidates. Mr. Powell's eloquence, decency and fairness are a reminder of how uplifting democracy can be when conducted by persons of principle and integrity. When the founding fathers imagined the future of the nation, this kind of dialog is what they likely had in mind.
